Editorial independence

Our content is produced independently of our advertising and partner relationships. Which contractors pay us has no influence on the cost figures, recommendations, or advice in our guides. We explain our business model plainly on How We Make Money.

Accuracy and fact-checking

We aim to be accurate and current. Cost figures follow our cost data methodology. Any claim that changes over time — tax credits, rebates, Medicare/Medicaid or VA benefit rules, permit requirements — is checked against an official primary source before publishing, and we tell you to confirm current rules with that source or a qualified professional, because they can change after we publish.

Expert review

We are building a network of named, license-verified trade experts to review our guides. We only credit a reviewer on a page when that person has genuinely reviewed it. We will never display a fabricated “reviewed by” credit or an invented license number — a false trust signal is worse than none.

Use of AI

We may use AI tools to assist with research and drafting, but every published guide is edited by people, checked against real sources, and held to the same accuracy standard as anything we write from scratch. We don't publish unedited machine output.

Corrections
